1) Who We Are
Varnika is a Kids Learning / Education app with Hindu/Indian culture–inspired content, games, stories, activities, and optional AI-assisted learning. This policy explains how Varnika (“we”, “us”) handles data.

Plain language: We collect the minimum information needed to run the app, improve learning experiences, keep the service secure, and comply with the law.
2) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide
Profile: optional nickname/child’s first name (or parent’s name), avatar.
Contact: parent email for support or newsletters (optional).
Feedback: messages sent to support.
In-app purchases: transaction records from the app store (no card details).
Device data: device model, OS version, app version, language, time zone.
Approximate location: derived from IP (for analytics/ads compliance). We do not collect precise GPS.
Advertising identifiers: e.g., Google Advertising ID (when ads are enabled).
C. Content for Learning
In AI learning features, text entered (e.g., a word/sentence to explore) may be sent to our AI provider to generate educational responses. We avoid sending names or direct identifiers; please do not include personal information in prompts.
3) How We Use Information
Provide core features: lessons, games, stories, streaks, and progress.
Operate AI features (process prompts; return age-appropriate responses).
Improve performance, quality, and safety (analytics, crash diagnostics, anti-fraud).
Customer support and service communications.
Legal compliance and enforcement of terms.
Show ads (when enabled) and measure their effectiveness in compliance with child-safety policies.
4) Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families)
Varnika is designed for families and young learners. Where the app is directed to children, we:
Collect only what’s necessary to run the service (usage, device diagnostics).
Use child-appropriate, non-personalized ads or disable ads in child-directed sections.
Avoid precise location and do not request phone contacts, camera, or microphone unless a feature explicitly needs it (and then only with clear parent controls).
Provide a parent contact method and honor deletion requests.

5) AI Features
When you use AI learning, your prompt and necessary context are sent to an AI service provider to generate a response. We:
Do not use prompts to build advertising profiles.
Attempt to remove personal identifiers from prompts.
Restrict providers contractually from using data for model training unless you consent.
Tip: Please do not include any personal or sensitive information in prompts.
6) Advertising & Analytics
A. Ads
We may use Google AdMob. In child-directed contexts, we use non-personalized ads and limit data to contextual signals.
Where required, we present consent dialogs (e.g., in the EEA/UK under GDPR). You can review or change choices in the app’s Settings > Privacy (if available) or by contacting us.
7) When We Share Information
Service providers: hosting, analytics, crash reporting, AI processing, payment processors.
Legal: to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and security.
Business transfers: during mergers or acquisitions (with notice where required).
We do not sell personal information.
8) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Account/profile data: kept while your account is active or as required by law.
Usage analytics & logs: typically 12–24 months, then aggregated or deleted.
Crash logs: typically 90–180 days.
AI prompts: retained briefly for processing and safety; we aim to purge within 30 days unless law/security requires longer.
We may retain minimal records to comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
11) International Transfers
Data may be processed on servers outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and limit data shared with third parties.
12) Your Choices & Controls
Adjust privacy settings in the app (if provided).
Reset advertising ID in your device settings or limit ad tracking.
Opt out of marketing emails via unsubscribe links.
